Volunteer with the People's Assembly



The People's Assembly is the largest anti-austerity campaign in the UK, responsible for the the biggest demonstrations and events challenging the Tory government's vicious and damaging austerity politics. We've played a key role in bringing the topic of austerity into the mainstream and growing mass opposition to it. Our huge protests over the last few years have made a huge impact and we must continue to keep up the pressure. The People's Assembly is of course made up of ordinary people like you and we always need as many volunteers as we can get!

There's a range of things you can do as a volunteer with the people's assembly, from media work, campaigning, events, stewarding and admin, all of it vital in keeping the movement growing. You can see more about what these roles entail below.

These are the types of tasks you'll be doing if you volunteer with the People's Assembly. 


We are always looking for creative people with media and graphics experience to help design a range of materials, from online graphics, social media, promotion and so on, to posters, flyers, pamphlets and much more. We want people who can get involved and help us maintain our strong house style and also help us over time take it new and exciting directions.

The People's Assembly always needs activists willing to get out on the street, hit the phones, get on social media and do a whole range of other activities to help build our events and demonstrations. We need friendly and proactive people to help run street stalls, flyer outside stations and other events and loads more. Running a campaign organisation like ours means we have to stay on top of a large of office admin and we're always behind! If you have basic computer and office skills and are friendly and proactive, we're always grateful for a helping hand. If you want to get involved fill out the Volunteer Form and and we'll get in touch.

In this role you'll be playing a key, hands-on role in running our events, whether it's being part of our stewarding team at indoor rallies or on massive street demonstrations, taking care of registrations, running stalls at our events and loads more.   • Volunteering with the People's Assembly is a voluntary and unpaid activity, though we will provide travel expenses if requested.
  • We are committed to our Volunteer Values
  • Access to the office at present is by stairs only
  • When volunteering with the People's Assembly you will be asked to read and sign a Volunteer Agreement. You'll be given a hard copy on your first day of volunteering with us and we'll keep a signed copy.
