No charges for to see the doctor

Next Thursday, GPs from around Britain will be meeting at York's Barbican Centre. On the agenda is a proposal to start charging for appointments. This would betray everything that the NHS was created for.

Protest from 8.30am, Thursday 22nd May outside the Barbican Centre main entrance.

Members of Local Medical Councils will be arriving from 8.30am and we want to greet them with a clear message. If the government aren't providing enough money, then its the government and those who fail to pay sufficient tax who are to blame.Charging patients is just another step towards private profit being put before health.
