Join us for this free event to debate TTIP and the Left's position on Britain's membership of the EU. Plus a special preview of a new production by Common Wealth Theatre Company
TTIP, the Transatlantic Trade & Investment Partnership being secretly negotiated between the EU and USA, is a grave threat to the foundations of our democracy. It is also stimulating one of the most vibrant European people power movements seen in a generation.
TTIP will result in over one million lost jobs, tear up food safety regulations that keep us safe from toxic chemicals and genetically modified ingredients, lead to runaway climate change and throw new banking regulations out of the window. On top of all that, it will create a new 'corporate court' system so corporations can sue states for policies that harm their future profits.
Come and find out why we must resist this toxic deal, and how we will defeat it. This meeting will follow a #NoTTIP protest @ Manchester Town Hall, Albert Square, 12pm on the same day (Monday 5th Oct).
