The latest seminar in the series jointly organized by the university staff unions Cambridge UCU and Anglia Ruskin UCU will discuss 'the challenges and opportunities for worker voice in the digital age' – including a case study on the People's Assembly Against Austerity! The sociologist Torsten Geelan (University of Cambridge) will draw on his doctoral research on our campaign for a talk titled, 'The Combustible Mix of Coalitional Power and Digital Media'.
Torsten's one of three speakers, with Lina Dencik (Cardiff University) who will talk about 'Digital Activism and the Political Culture of Trade Unionism', and Alex J. Wood (Oxford Internet Institute) who will talk about 'The Digital Fragmentation of Work: Labour Solidarity and Action in a Gig Economy'. The talks will be followed by questions and a discussion.
