Saturday 4 March / 12 midday / Tavistock Square, London WC1
The NHS is at breaking point after decades of market reforms and nearly seven years of austerity. Now Health Campaigns Together and the People's Assembly Against Austerity have called a national demonstration, Our NHS, for Saturday 4 March in London to demand
- a fully funded, publicly owned NHS and social care service;
- no cuts, no closures, no privatization; and
- an end to pay restraint for NHS staff.
The Cambridge People's Assembly will provide wheelchair-accessible coach transport, with free seats available, to and from London for the demonstration. Our coach will pick up passengers from the Backs on Queens' Road, and from the Unite the Union office near the Park and Ride site on Madingley Road. We'll meet from 9.30 a.m. ready for the coach to leave Cambridge at 10, and leave London at 4.30 p.m.
Booking is open now through Eventbrite. Seats cost £5 if you have a wage, and if not, they are free. Thanks to the tremendous support of Cambridgeshire NUT, PCS Eastern, UNISON Cambridge Acute Hospitals, and Unite London and Eastern so far, we've been able to cut the prices we first posted. We're contacting those who booked early to offer refunds.
