Saturday 30 June / 12 midday / Portland Place, London, W1A
We're going back into the streets, to party and protest for the threatened NHS ahead of its seventieth birthday in July! Our group will provide accessible transport to and from the #OurNHS70 demonstration in London on Saturday 30 June, called by the People's Assembly and Health Campaigns Together in support of a free, universal, and public NHS.
The Conservative government continues to defund and stealthily to privatize the health service: we reviewed the local situation, following the publication of the Sustainability and Transformation Plan for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, in the article 'Fit for the Few'.
Our wheelchair-accessible coach leaves Cambridge at 9.30 a.m., picking up first from the Backs on Queens' Road, then from the Unite the Union office on Madingley Road (close to the Park and Ride site). We're currently planning to leave London at 5 p.m. Tickets cost £10 (waged, full-time), £5 (waged, part-time), or are free (unwaged). You can book your place through Eventbrite.
