Wednesday 1 November / 5 p.m. / Audit Room, King's College, King's Parade, Cambridge CB2 1ST
The latest seminar in the Critical Theory and Practice series organized by students and staff at the University of Cambridge will discuss the tremendous student protests of 2010, in the light of the publication of Matt Myers's oral history Student Revolt. (The protests were set off by the coalition government's early austerity measures in higher education, above all the near tripling of tuition fees.) Myers and Nick Evans as participants will speak alongside the current student activist Ed McNally. The seminar is co-hosted by Cambridge Defend Education, the key student organization founded here at the time.
The event should finish by 7 p.m., leaving a little time to get to our monthly meeting at 7.30!
