Monday 20 February / From 1 p.m. / Various venues
On 20 February, under the slogan One Day Without Us, some of us who are immigrants will withdraw from our usual activities in protest at the racism and xenophobia which has poisoned British politics and everyday life. We'll also come together during the day for demonstrations and discussions.
In Cambridge, at 1 p.m. on King's Parade, we'll link hands to form a human chain to demonstrate our solidarity and mutual dependence. Later (while the People's Assembly and other groups join Cambridge Stand Up to Racism in Market Square, to protest the racist policies of the US president Donald Trump) Unite the Union and Migrants Organize will hold an evening forum for invited community organizers, and at 8 p.m. we'll all reunite for an informal gathering at the CB2 Bistro (5–7 Norfolk Street).
The Cambridge organizers, with Unite, will also hold a rally at 1 p.m. in Market Square the day before (see our earlier notice).
