Cambridge transport to Take Back Manchester

Sunday 1 October / 12 midday / Castlefield Arena, Rice Street, Manchester M3 4JR

The People's Assembly has called a national demonstration for Sunday 1 October as part of Take Back Manchester, its week-long festival of politics, performance, and protest opposite the Conservative Party's 2017 conference. The demo will focus opposition to the Conservatives' politics of austerity, racism, and war, and demand an alternative that works for everyone. And the Cambridge People's Assembly will again provide cheap transport!

The general election on 8 June wiped out the Conservative Party's parliamentary majority, in a strong reaction against a grim platform based on continued austerity. The People's Assembly has called a national demonstration on Saturday 1 July against the Conservative leader Theresa May's attempts to sustain a government, under the slogan Not One Day More.

We can't resume posting here without marking the terrible fire which destroyed the Grenfell Tower flats in North Kensington, early in the morning of Wednesday 14 June. Scores have died in the most horrifying circumstances; hundreds have lost their homes.

Strawberry Fair stall

After our participation in Cambridge's mass stall days on 6 and 27 May, we'll go into the field (this time literally) once more ahead of the general election with a stall in the Love Music Hate Racism area at Strawberry Fair. We're saying again, let's vote to kick the Conservatives out of government on Thursday 8 June!
