Cambridge transport to #OurNHS70

We're going back into the streets, to party and protest for the threatened NHS ahead of its seventieth birthday in July! Our group will provide accessible transport to and from the #OurNHS70 demonstration in London on Saturday 30 June, called by the People's Assembly and Health Campaigns Together in support of a free, universal, and public NHS.

Strike at McDonald's

Last September, McDonald's workers in Cambridge and Crayford (south-east London) took historic strike action. Tomorrow they're striking again, with staff at three more restaurants in Manchester and Watford joining them! They're still fighting for a choice of fixed hours, still for decent pay (£10 an hour), and now for equal pay for young workers: see the Fast Food Rights blog for more information.

Strike in Cambridge University

This notice is a bit late, but the University and College Union (UCU) is part way through a major strike against an attack on the USS pension for teaching and support staff. The Cambridge UCU branch has produced a strong and energetic strike with high student support, and has our full solidarity!

One Day Without Us

The One Day Without Us immigrant solidarity campaign will hold a rally with speakers in Market Square this weekend, supported by the UNISON trade union and the Global Justice Cambridge, Cambridge Stays, Amnesty International Cambridge City, and Cambridgeshire Hope Not Hate campaigns. Its message is 'Proud to be a migrant, proud to stand with migrants'.
